Hi, we’re Lucas and Rocco, the co-founders of Pure Shine.

Our story started long before Pure Shine ever existed.

When we were just 8 years old, we met on a basketball court here in Bellingham, Washington. Over the years, we continued crossing paths—playing basketball, football, and soccer together before attending Fairhaven Middle School and later Sehome High School. We weren’t best friends overnight, but through years of practices, games, and growing up in the same community, our friendship naturally grew into what it is today.

The idea for Pure Shine came during our sophomore year of high school, and it all started in a pretty unexpected way.

From teammates at 8 years old… to business partners serving the community we grew up in.

Rocco’s grandma owned a restaurant in Birch Bay and asked if we’d clean the windows. We agreed, mostly because we were getting paid with a free meal. After cleaning them a few times, we started thinking…

“What if we did this for other people too?”

So we started cleaning windows for friends and family. One job turned into another, referrals started coming in, and before long we realized this could become something much bigger than a weekend side hustle.

When we turned 18, we officially started Pure Shine.

In the beginning, we did everything ourselves. We answered every phone call, scheduled every estimate, cleaned every window, climbed every roof, cleaned every gutter, and learned every part of the business firsthand.

Like many young business owners, one of our biggest challenges was simply earning people’s trust. Some people looked at our age and assumed we wouldn’t last.

Instead of letting that discourage us, we used it as motivation.

We worked hard, continued learning, invested back into the business, and focused on doing the small things right. Over time, those happy customers started recommending us to their friends, neighbors, and family, and Pure Shine continued to grow.

Today, we’re proud to serve homeowners throughout Whatcom and Skagit County with an incredible team that shares the same values we started with.
